Preparation is key:

  • Shower and exfoliate on the day of your tan using an oil-free body scrub.

  • Avoid using shower lotions that contain essential oils or moisturising cream as these can create a barrier to the tan activation.

  • Hair removal ie. waxing/shaving should be done no closer than 24 hours prior to tanning session as this will open pores which can then trap the tinted guide bronzer on your skin.

  • Don‘t wear makeup, deodorant or any skin products to the tanning session and avoid moisturising completely for 24 hours prior to your tan as this can block the tan result and cause streaks.

  • Bondi Sands will dry instantly on the skin and shouldn’t transfer too much onto clothing, but for the best tan, wear or bring loose, dark clothing and flip-flops (avoiding string vest tops and anything that clings to the skin). If the tan does transfer onto your clothes, washing as normal will remove any bronzing.

Looking after your tan:

  • Following your spray tan, avoid wearing a bra and don’t put your hands in water or get the skin wet as this will affect the development of the tan.

  • Try not to touch your skin with the palms of your hands as this area should remain completely untanned for a realistic, natural-looking tan result.

  • Don’t wax or shave for 24 hours following treatment as this removes layers of skin and will remove the tan too.

  • Moisturise twice daily following the spray tan. Only use products that don’t contain essential oils as these oils create a faster fade.

  • If you want to keep your sun-kissed glow, book a follow up appointment for around 7-10 days later. Your tan will gradually fade over the week in preparation for your top up!
